The Screening Room is an independent film review site. It has been running since the late 2000s as a personal viewing diary — double bills, triple bills, festival catch-ups and one-off reviews written after the credits roll, without press screenings, embargoes or advertiser relationships.
What gets covered
Mostly whatever is in front of the projector: new releases, back catalogue, television films taped off-air, and the long-running alphabet and catch-up strands where several films are written up together. Reviews are grouped under Reviews; longer pieces and season write-ups sit under Features.
How the reviews are written
Every film is watched in full before it is written about. Ratings are deliberately absent — the text carries the judgement. Plot description is kept to what a reader needs to follow the argument, and endings are not spoiled without warning.
Corrections
Credits, dates and release details are checked against the film itself where possible. If something here is wrong, it gets corrected rather than quietly deleted.
